The Worst books of 2022

Yeah, so some of the books I read last year…didn’t quite work for me.

A Man Called Ove

This took me half a year to get through because I kept putting it down and couldn’t bring myself to read it. Such a snooze-fest to me. The ending was good but predictable.

Ninth House

This was objectively okay, I’m sure, but I just couldn’t pay attention or get into it. I think thriller/mystery/dark academia are not my vibe. Meh.

Gathering Blue

The Giver was an amazing book. I don’t know why this was the sequel, because it has nothing to do with The Giver, and it has none of the same characters or world. And it’s one of the most boring books I’ve laid my eyes on.

All My Rage

This will piss off some people. I know this book is well-loved. But I think I just need to not pick up YA contemporary (or any contemporary for that matter), because I get nothing out of them.

My Fair Junkie

This was an interesting memoir, but it was so poorly written and just all over the place. There was not proper timeline, and I had no idea what was going on half the time.

Yolk

Again, contemporary is just not for me. I had pretty high expectations for this book, but not only did it bore me and did I get nothing out of it…but the ending left us on a cliffhanger? As a standalone novel? Excuse me?
